Career & Technical Education (CTE) Center Campaign
Career & Technical Education Center

Salt Lake City School District plans to ignite every student’s potential by blending academic knowledge, technical skills, and real-world experience in our new career-oriented learning center. Through innovative programs in health sciences, information technology, advanced manufacturing, and public service—as well as emerging fields shaped by industry and community need—we prepare students to take their next steps on college and career pathways that lead to family-supporting jobs and further education. Our new center will equip learners not only with career-ready certifications and college credit, but also with the critical thinking skills, collaboration, and civic responsibility essential for success in the modern workforce and society.
To bring this vision to life, the district is raising $35 million to transform an existing elementary school into a modern Career and Technical Education Center. This investment comes at a pivotal moment for Salt Lake City’s economy. Utah’s capital city is experiencing rapid growth in technology, healthcare, manufacturing, and public service sectors—all of which face urgent workforce shortages. Local employers consistently cite the need for skilled workers who are ready to contribute on day one. By building advanced labs, collaborative classrooms, and simulation spaces that mirror industry environments, the Center will directly connect students to these high-demand fields, ensuring that graduates are prepared to power Salt Lake City’s economy, strengthening its communities.
